Today meet Stuart Spurdle

Hydroscand WrexhamBranch Manager HYDRAQUIP Hose & Hydraulics

While at school I completed sixth form and gained A Levels in IT and Biology, an unusual mix! I’ve worked within the hydraulics industry for many years, since 1995 having worked for Blackwell Hydraulics and subsequently Hydroscand Wrexham. I began as a Depot Assistant and Delivery Driver at Blackwell Hydraulics, then progressed to become an Assistant Manager and then Branch Manager at Hydroscand Wrexham who had formally purchased Blackwell Hydraulics in 2011. After working for Hydroscand Wrexham for a few years, I decided to join the team at Hydraquip Hose & Hydraulics in 2014 when they opened their new hydraulics branch in Wrexham. Over the years I have developed a vast product knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial hose and industry related products whilst working at Blackwell’s, Hydroscand Wrexham and now at Hydraquip Wrexham. I have been very lucky to have worked with some really great people over the years, John Blackwell, Nigel Roberts and Bob Davies from Blackwell’s all deserve special thanks for guiding me and giving me 100% support, sadly John Blackwell passed away in 2011.

I do enjoy photography which is a true passion of mine and something that I have always enjoyed, using my Canon DSLR to take pictures of mainly nature and wildlife. I watch quite a bit of Formula 1 racing, World Touring Cars being one one my favourite races to watch. I like going out with the family for meals especially for Chinese food at the many buffet restaurants in the Wrexham area. I also enjoy watching Red Dwarf, Benidorm and you can’t beat an old classic such as Yes Prime Minister. I love new technology, always looking at new products and the latest must have gadgets to spend my money on! My latest purchases include a smart watch so I can read my emails and text on the go and an oven that has a 100 page instruction manual (who actually reads instructions anyway?) I’m currently working on a DIY project, painting my house and doing up the garden which takes up a lot of my spare time at the moment. A case of DIY SOS Big Build perhaps? My favourite place in the UK is Wales (of course) but also London where I like to visit as often as I can with my family. We enjoy site seeing especially Buckingham Palace and The London Eye and going to the Westend, especially the theatres. We have seen lots of shows such as The Lion King, Jersey Boys and The Bodyguard and would like to see more next time I visit. I also enjoy track driving experiences in Lamborghinis and Ferraris hence why they are my dream cars! On the weekends in my spare time I like going for days out in Llangollen and the North Wales coast. I really enjoy going on holiday all around the UK, some places I have visited before are London, The Lake District, Devon and Cornwall where I shall be going again in September for a well earned weeks holiday and taking my parents with me to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
