Our Story

Since it’s formation in 1989 as Gatwick Hose Services the Hydraquip Group has grown into a multi million pound business serving a wide range of industries in the UK and oversea, employing over 300 staff at 21 locations strategically placed throughout the United Kingdom.

Initially the company was operating to serve local businesses in the Gatwick area (South London), providing them with fluid power related products from a small single trade unit and a handful of experienced staff with backgrounds in the hydraulic industry. Since then it has expanded and diversified into a variety of different marketplaces that predominantly fall into four divisions and this is reflected in the current set up of the company which now trades as four independent companies – Hydraquip Hose & Hydraulics, Hydraquip Braided Hose Division, Hydraquip Metal Hose Division and Transnordic Hydraulic Valves. These operations provide hose and hydraulic solutions to a multitude of companies from Sole Traders to Multi National Blue Chip Groups.

The only difference between a problem and a solution is the people that understand the problem and provide the solution – One of the original and current core strategies in the continued expansion of the group has been the emphasis in employing the right people and developing them to ensure that the levels of service and expertise provided are amongst the best amiable. The importance of which has been confirmed by the group’s year on year growth.

The goal of the Hydraquip Group is to operate and continuously develop a financially stable company that provides solutions for their customers whilst building long term partnerships with them, culminating in customers willingly passing on their recommendations to other potential users.

Hydraquip Hose & Hydraulics

Hydraquip offer both trade counter and on site to customers requiring hydraulic repairs and fluid power products. Hydraquip have grown to the UK’s largest on site hose replacement service which is backed up by their ever expanding network of branches. The fleet of service vehicles are operated by experienced and decimated hydraulic engineers with up to date and tailored training allowing the company ti provide solutions for specific fields of industry. As the company has grown, it has expanded its’ core operation and expertise. From initially supplying only fluid power products, it no provides a source for the supply of product, on site hose repairs, bulk hose assembly, hydraulic engineering and marine engineering.

Transnordic Hydraulic Valves

The Hydraquip Group expanded their operations in late 2015 by welcoming Transnordic Hydraulic Valves, a UK manufacturer of hydraulic valves, specialising in the design and manufacture of custom built valves, along with offering a comprehensive range of off the shelf valves. Transnordic Limited was originally established in 1979 in Rochester, Kent. It was here at a mere age of seventeen Managing Director of Hydraquip Duncan MacBain carried out his Mechanical and Production Engineering apprenticeship. In addition to offering custom made valves and a comprehensive range of off the shelf valves, Transnordic’s experienced team offer a service, repair and refurbishment service to damaged or aged valves.

Braided Hose Division

Hydraquip’s introduction into the braided rubber hose manufacturing began in 1991 when a local power shower manufacturer required a supplier of hoses. From this single customer Hydraquip are now recognised as the leading UK manufacture of bespoke braided hoses for industries including: building services (M&E), plumbing, heating, catering, vending, marine and numerous OEM requirements with their hoses used in applications from domestic to landmark building in the UK and around the world.

Metal Hose Division

Since its formation in 2010, Hydraquip’s Metal Hose Division has become one of the UK’s leading suppliers of metal hose assemblies manufacturing high quality products to a diverse range of customers in the UK and overseas. These metal hose assemblies are suitable for a variety of applications involving extreme working parameters, temperatures of between -269°C and + 750°C and working pressures in excess of 300 bar. Some typical applications/uses include heating and ventilation, building services, gas, steam, vacuum, chemical and petrochemical and applications involving vibrations and misalignment on pipe work or movements.
