Braided Hose

Hydraquip’s braided hose assemblies are manufactured from an EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber and armoured with a stainless steel over braiding. The BX hose range is BSRIA BG4-2004 approved, which requires hose assemblies to pass an accelerated ageing test which provides a reputable and independent assurance for suitability for building services applications.

Flexible hose assemblies are designed to offer an alternative to rigid pipe installations which offer flexibility and overcome alignment problems that can often prove to be quite costly, especially when a copper pipe is bent or twisted to meet a connection point. In addition to the plumbing sector, these hose assemblies are suited towards more demanding applications such as building services, fan coils, heating, anti-vibration and ceiling applications.

Hose Construction

Available from a DN08 (8mm) up to DN50 (50mm) bore, braided hose assemblies with an EPDM liner and a stainless steel overbraid are custom made at Hydraquip’s production plant based in the South of England. Whilst coming from the same family and looking similar to tap flexi’s these hose assemblies offer a greater level in all areas of construction and performance which make them ideal for applications that require a higher specification. The building service and OEM hose assemblies are suited to a working temperature range of -20°C to +110°C with DN12 hoses working at 20 bar with at least a 4:1 safety factor.

In addition to the stocked standard ranges available off the shelf, Hydraquip’s Braided Hose Division manufacture bespoke lengths in various bore sizes and end connections. The UK based manufacturer stock a comprehensive range of end connections. These are available in female, male, compression, female elbow, standpipe, push fit and tectite. For applications such as chilled water systems a Class O insulation can be added with the ends capped. Along with vapour sealed to prevent corrosion from trapped moisture.

Since the early 1990’s when the company made its first braided flexible hose, Hydraquip have supplied hose assemblies globally to a number of key projects and manufacturers. Working closely to provide a flexible solution that is best suited to their needs which has frequently required the design and manufacture of new fittings and on occasions a brand new hose has been developed and manufactured.
