What is a Wellbeing Champion?

  • Hydraquip’s Wellbeing Champions are employees who have chosen to complete mental health training so that they can support their colleagues, should they ever need it.
  • The role of a Wellbeing Champion in the workplace is to be a point of contact for an employee who is experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. This interaction could range from having an initial conversation through to supporting the person to get appropriate help.

Is it confidential?

  • Yes. Any conversation with a Wellbeing Champion will remain confidential, unless there is a concern for your safety. In this instance only the appropriate people will be notified.

How do I make contact?

  • Reach out to one of our Wellbeing Champions by using the contact details below. You can send an initial email asking for some support. Alternatively, ask your line manager or HR who can make contact for you.

Wellbeing Champions Contact List

I have worked for Hydraquip since April 2022 as a mobile hose engineer.

I have taken on the role of Mental Health Champion as it is something close to my heart after suffering my own Mental Breakdown several years ago. Through counselling I have learned techniques that have help me. I have an empathetic ear and hope through my experiences I can help others learn to control their struggles.

I am the Purchase Ledger manager and have worked for Hydraquip for 20+ years, during my time here I have come across so many different characters, and lots of people have reached out to me in the past, I have always wanted to be able to do more, so I completed a college course and passed with flying colours, which gave me a better understanding and I was able to then give valid advice.

I’ve lived in Aylesbury with my wife and daughter for 16 years, originally coming from west London. I like going out on my motorbike in my spare time and touring.

I am a Metal Health Champion because my wife and daughter suffer with anxiety and felt it might benefit in understanding more. I also like to help people and feel if it would benefit anyone in talking about their worries.

I live in Hertfordshire with my family and enjoy long walks with my dog, I also enjoy gardening and diy and find these useful for mindfulness. I would like to support anyone that needs someone to talk to confidentially. I have supported a member of staff recently by offering to talk through the struggles of life and helping see how this can be managed into bite sized chunks.
